This blog post is going to be short, but I’m going to include a few photos to entice you into clicking over to the Fusion Mineral Paint Website so you can see the step-by-step guide on TWO WAYS to add a fun pop not only to your furniture but to your space. Ill include a supply list for you here as well! For now, take a look at the before shot:
SUPPLY LIST

- 150/220 Grit Sandpaper
- Staalmeester Round One Brush
- Fusion 2 – Inch Angled Brush
The first thing you can do to add a fun pop is incorporate some color. While I’m a firm believer that large pieces and the majority of the room should be neutral and calming colors, there are subtle ways to incorporate color that can liven up your space without being too washed out. For this piece, we wanted to include this pretty new pink that is one of Fusion Mineral Paint’s NEW 11 Colors called “Rose Water.” So I thought it would be fun to paint the interior in this color. Painting the interior of cabinets is easy to do, and always easy to change when you tire of the color.
The second way to add a fun pop to your furniture is by adding graphics. You can do this using stencils, or free-hand drawings. Just play around and find a pattern that works for you. You can even make your graphic stand out with a contrasting colors. I used painter’s tape to create a classic grain sack stripe across the top. The trick to getting those clean lines is to offload as much paint as possible and stipple the brush rather than drag in a painting motion.
Now that you’ve gotten a sneak peek at this project, I’m going to send you over to the Fusion Mineral Paint blog for the full STEP-BY-STEP process and to see the entire transformation from start to finish!
