Happy Wednesday friends! It seems lately that I have more free time during the week than the weekends to blog. A lot of progress has been made on the candle studio (blog coming soon), and we are gearing up for our busiest candle season of the year! It’s exciting and stressful every fall, but I am so looking forward to pumpkin everything, cooler days and the shift in the air.

In the meantime, while my impatient self waits on weather under 80 degrees, I wanted to blog about this cute little washstand that I rescued from the Salvation Army. One of the things that drew me to this piece was hardware. It’s original to this Eastlake style piece which means this piece is high quality.
Here is the before photo:
This blog post is going to be short, but I’m going to include a few photos to entice you into clicking over to the Fusion Mineral Paint website so you can see the step-by-step guide on how to recreate this look. I’ll include a supply list for you here as well!
When I painted the first swipe of “this shade “Lavande” on this piece, I was instantly in love. Im not much of a purple fan, and lavender has always been one of those super feminine shades that I don’t usually gravitate towards, but this shade was different. It’s the perfect amount of grey, with a touch of blush and it just feels elegant.
The hardware was without a doubt my favorite part of this piece. The hardware is ornate and very detailed, and cleaning it up to make it pop against the lovely shade of lavender was the perfect choice. It brings some warmth to this piece and ties in perfectly with the natural wood top.
It’s amazing how far a little paint can go. The transformation never ceases to amaze me when you compare the before and after, especially when you step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. The great thing about being a furniture painter is the creativity that comes with designing your project. You can try new products, new colors, new techniques and there is no shortage of combination to make your project exactly how you want it.
Fusion Mineral Paint and Homestead House have an incredible line of high quality, authentic finishes that truly elevate your projects. The color palettes are stunning and you can find so many beautiful shades, just like “Lavande.”
