Many of my long time followers and readers know that on top of refinishing furniture, I own an Etsy shop selling vintage items, as well as artisan candles. About five years ago, I bought a terrible candle from a big name candle store that gave me terrible migraines, produced hazardous sooting and nearly caught on fire with how thin the glass was. I loved candles and thought I had a sensitivity to them…turns out I was just buying and burning all the wrong ones. So I decided to create my own. Fast forward to five years later, and I’m extremely proud to introduce my Tattoo Inspired Candle collection called LitINK.

LitINK isn’t just about cool artwork. It’s actually a collaboration and a representation of a huge part of my life and personality. I love tattoos, I love tattoo culture and I find that tattoos are the ultimate form of expression. For me, each one of these scents was paired with a traditional style tattoo flash that is so much more than the cosmetics of the art. The artwork itself goes much deeper into evoking symbolism and meaning, and in the oversaturated candle market, I find this collection to appeal to a very specific audience. After all, you can find hundreds of pumpkin spice and peony candles in stores and online, but you truly have to search and dig deep for a tattoo inspired candle.

The LitINK Tattoo Candle Collection

“Guide Me Home” is a warm, earthy blend of sandalwood and musk. Top notes of airy ozone and a hint of citrus open up to a sandalwood core that’s smoothed out with lightly sweet benzoin. Resinous amber and cedar blend with dark musk and a touch of powder for a rich woodiness in the base.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is the traditional lighthouse which is symbolic of protection, the love of sailing or symbolizes the ocean. Lumina means to “illuminate” guiding your way safely back to shore.

“Sink or Swim” evokes the churn of the sea, wrapping the water, sand, and salt together into a clean and ozonic scent. Top notes of lemon, orange, and fresh ozone give way to a heart of briny sea salt and a hint of jasmine. Powder and light musk balance the woody violet and cedar in the base.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is a vibrant octopus. The octopus can represent on the spot thinking, overcoming your fears and resilience, which also ties into the “Sink or Swim” mentality. 

“Bed of Thorns” combines top notes of sweet mandarin and wildflower honey with middle notes of lily and rose to create a beautiful airy, floral fragrance. Hints of woody amber and powder in the base provide a rich, earthy balance to the clean floral notes. Orange and lemon essential oils enhance the bright freshness of this ozonic fragrance.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is the traditional rose. The rose is considered a symbol of balance. The beauty of this flower expresses promise, hope, and new beginnings. It is contrasted by thorns symbolizing defense, loss, and thoughtlessness.

“Walk The Plank” is a complex, modern fragrance with high-end appeal. This woody scent begins with top notes of amaretto and powder as it gives way to a heart of tonka and balsam. Notes of rum, musk, and sweet, resinous oud make up the base of this intriguing fragrance.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is a fierce nautical pirate. The pirate represents freedom, wanderlust and bravery, but not without the price of consequence. To “walk the plank” is to face the consequences of one’s own actions without regret. 

One whiff of “Ball and Chain” and you’ll be hooked…literally. Lots of buttery, creamy, and vanilla notes make our this fragrance irresistible.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is a pierced heart with the “True Love” banner and a diamond representing marriage or commitment. The pierced heart represents a tale of caution showing love comes with pain and sacrifice. As someone’s ball and chain, you are bound and committed to your partner…whether that commitment is about love and passion or imprisonment…the choice is up to you!

Cool, fresh, and invigorating, our “Drink to Forget” fragrance is a true version of the classic mojito cocktail. This scent fuses notes of freshly muddled mint with tropical undertones of pineapple, lime, and rum.

The tattoo chosen for this fragrance is a traditional pinup girl in a martini glass. The pinup girl and martini glass remind us to indulge in the the finer things in life, and to abandon our troubles whenever we indulge.
