Hi Guys! Just wanted to do a quick post on this pretty little end table I painted a couple of weeks back. I’ve been super busy with every day life stuff, and adding some cool vintage items to my Etsy shop, so it’s been a while since I’ve made a post on a piece I did.
Although this piece has sold, you can favorite our Etsy shop here, if you want to see similar furniture for sale. This post also contains affiliate links.
I don’t have any high quality “before” photos, so I’m just going to get down to the nitty gritty. I walked past this end table a few times deciding whether I should buy it or not. The color choice was what had me second guessing myself. It’s such a unique piece that I didn’t know if I wanted to play it safe or go bold, but after discovering the color tag was 50% off, I figured I could buy it and keep it in the “to-do” pile until I got around to deciding on a color.
As you can see, go big or go home! I had some leftover Fusion Mineral Paint in “Seaside” from the Moroccan Cabinet I did earlier this year. This color is very pretty and super vibrant!
I did do my usual prep work:
- Sand with 220 grit paper
- Wash with warm soapy water
- Primer (your choice)/2 coat minimum with sanding in between.
- Clean with a tack cloth to remove dust
The faceplates were removable, so I used warm soapy water and an old toothbrush to really clean out the grime in the detail. I can’t tell you how important it is to clean the age off vintage pieces. It really does have an effect in your overall finish and since I planned on doing a Gloss finish, I didn’t want to take any chances.
I thinned the paint down a ton. I pretty much just eyeball at this point to determine how much thinning depending on the spray gun I am going to use. For this one, since it was a small piece, I used the Critter. I also sealed it with three coats of General Finishes Gloss Polyurethane. I also cleaned, primed and spray painted those pretty pulls with Rustoleum’s Brilliant Gold.
I also used the very last bits of paper I used on the moroccan cabinet to finish the drawers. I love the combo of the serpentine damask with the vibrant blue paint color. It seems they were made for each other!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! As always, pinning my photos helps to drive more traffic to my blog and keep me up and running, so spread the word, and if you’re a first time visitor, be sure to sign up for email updates!

Hi Michelle! Yes this color is gorgeous! Fusion Mineral Paint has a beautiful line of colors and it is super easy to work with. It has become one one of my go-to paints and I use it on nearly all of my projects! If you love this color, you will also love their Homestead Blue!
