A few weeks ago I shared a snippet of some decor changes on my Instagram stories. Soon after, I got tons of comments and questions asking for more info on the old hardware/apothecary cabinet I had in my dining room. While I had intended to blog about this soon rather than later, life happened, I ended up in Oman for a year and had a long list of projects (about 50+) to blog about and this one was at the top of the list.

This is a Fusion Mineral Paint Feature which means I’m going to give you a little sneak peek at the project and send you over to the Fusion page to see the full process and reveal! But before I do, below is a list of supplies you’ll need:
Supplies Needed:
- Fusion TSP
- Flexible Sanding Pads
- Fusion 1-inch Synthetic Brush
- Wiping Cloths
- Fusion Stain & Finishing Oil in Cappuccino
- Hardware
Above is the before photo of the cabinet. Pieces like this don’t come without quirks so the best thing you can do is fix what you can to preserve as much of it’s authenticity as possible. I jotted down a few things that I needed to address, like obviously finding complimentary hardware and the bit of lopsidedness. Unfortunately, of the two things the only one that was fixable was the hardware. I wanted to preserve the numbered drawers and all the characters in the wood and Fusion’s SFO is the only thing I knew would work to give me both.
As you can see, Fusion’s Stain and Finishing oil did a beautiful job of enriching the wood grain and bringing out some of the age in the drawers. This stuff is LIQUID GOLD…I’m telling you! If you don’t have this in your tool box as a refinisher…you NEED to.
And now to see the entire process STEP-BY-STEP, hop on over to the Fusion Mineral Paint blog and see the entire transformation from start to finish! You will be shocked at how easy it is to bring back some life into those old pieces with this product!
